The Hypostatic Union – Part 1

October 19, 2020
Sergio/Ryan

TF Torrance greatest work on hypostatic union.
Two natures, one person.
The humanity of Christ:
Docetist position it would be unworthy for God to take on flesh
God has actively come to us in Jesus.
He that has seen me has seen the father.
What Christ is to us, God is. If Christ is not God, then the love of Christ is not identical to God’s love. So we do not know God is love.
When his humanity is denied, then his divinity is denied as well (as he would have been a liar).
Apart from the human obedience of Christ we have nothing to offer to God.
